Pig pickin' - Day 6

Day 6

I’m extremely tired today. We may have stayed up until 12:30 am watching the Cougars defeat the imposter cougars. I’m happy and grateful to report a victory, even though there were some scary moments in the game. But we came out victorious!

So, my brain is all fuzzy and I just want to go to sleep. Normally, this would be easy, because after work is at 5:00. But then we have the ward barbecue to go to. I’ve been looking forward to it and excited for it, but now I don’t know if I will be able to stay awake during it.

I’m grateful for the Barbecue. Apparently it’s supposed to be something called a Pig Pickin’. Meaning they roast a whole pig and the pig is there and we eat it.

It was also funny signing up to bring food, because instead of a potluck type thing where everyone just brings anything, they were VERY specific. They wanted coleslaw, potato salad, beans, macaroni and cheese, rolls… etc. Basically, this is going to be a for real southern barbecue. Austin and I are bringing rolls. We figure that is something us Westerners can handle.

I’m also grateful and happy to report that I have met bonus qualifications and that it is as close to official as it can be right now. So happy!

I’m grateful for my coworkers. They’re all great. They make the days go by faster.

I’m grateful for sleep. I wish I could get some right now.

I’m grateful for our cat, who is probably part dog. When we come home from work and school he starts meowing and jumping up on our legs and then runs into the bedroom and plops on the bed so that we can immediately start petting him. He nuzzles up against us and can’t seem to get enough.

I’m grateful for gyms… even though I can’t really use one right now.
